how to replace radiator on 95 Passat?

Has anyone ever replaced the radiator on his 95 Passat? I need to replace mine but am not sure quite how to get the radiator out. Does it lift out from the top of the engine compartment, or does it somehow slide out underneath the engine compartment? It just looks like there isn't enough room between the engine block and the front of the car to squeeze the radiator out. Any help is much appreciated!
