Sparkplug wire clips

How the heck do you get those clips off the spark plug wires. I'm wondering if there is a special tool for them, if there is what is it called?

I've tried, with my finger tips, a screw driver, and a pair of pliers won't fit in the area enough to squeeze the two ends in and pull it up.

You will have to look at the clip. Viewing from the top down, one side appears as if the plastic makes a loop from the top holder to the bottom receiver. The other side should look like a clip. Take a small screwdriver of the type that SnapOn gives away and slide it down the inside of the clip. You may have to pry a little. Good Luck!

Tried that, I'm stuck, strugglin my ass off. Should I pay someone, or just keep trying?

Are we talking about the run of the mill GM spark plug wire holder? And are You trying to open it? The clip is on the side. I will say this, it is a bi*ch. Broke more than my share for they seem to get brittle. Once you do it though, it will be easier. Try it on one that is easy to get to, like on the passenger side. The ones with more wires are easier than the single and double ones.

LOL, that's exactly what I did. I started on the passenger side and got the one with all three open. When I got to the clip with two on it, it was like candy was taken from me when I was a little kid. There has got to be a tool for these. I'm ready to just break them off, or remove the bracket that holds them to the engine block. I don't think that's a good idea.

Ok, try this, the clip should pull off the bracket. Also, there are two types that I have run into. Those that push on a stud and those that slide onto a flat piece of metal. I always just pull the holder off prior to trying to open it. Now, on the wire holder, and by now I'm sure you know, find the side with the U shaped piece. Slide the screwdriver down between the U and the holder. That should free the hook. Take another screwdriver, of the same small type and slip it between the wire and the holder (top part) and pry up. If you are changing the wire set, why mark #1 and/or the others and just pull the set off. It would be easier to remove the holders with the wires off. And as far as I know, there is no tool.

The clip must be frozen to the metal bracket because it's not coming off the bracket. I have noticed there is like a little notch on the metal and a hole on the clip that keeps the clip from falling off. I know there should be a way to pull those off, I just got to have the paitance to do it.

jeez, comon guys, it is a sparkplug clip, these are not hard at all.
