Noise When Shifting

I have a 97 auto lude and i just noticed the other day that right when my car shifts out of first and second gear i hear a rattle noise... i have no idea what it is, but it started after i hit a pot hole... though i dont notice anything besides the noise... maybe the heat shield vibrating or something? ANY IDEAS?
