Engine Swap

I have been told that it is a huge pain to swap a 1995 S10 2.2L with a 2001 Tacoma 2.2L. That I would be better off going to a V6 w/ trans and complete wiring harness and computer because that's about what I would be dealing with just to do the 4 cylinder swap. yatta yatta yatta. I just want the thing to run as a junk/yard truck. This is not my daily driver so the ultimate on performance and MPG is not a concern. Oil pump went out and trashed to original engine with 171,000 on the clock. Can't complain with that. Any truth to the 2.2 story?????

Thanks,

John

Just about any engine swap is possible, if your willing to do all the work. You will have to swap transmissions, fabricate motor mounts and several other mods.

There is a small chance that Advanced Adaptors can help you out with some of the parts required.

A Toyota 2.2L is probably way better than Chevy's, and probably has more power, although the Chevy transmission is probably way better than the Toyota's

Not worth it.

Drop in a 4.3L with tranny.
