RWD better than AWD?

So can someone explain to me why Brent Rau's Osofast / ACT Eclipse is rear wheel drive. This car's fastest run was mid 7's. So why isn't it AWD?

RWD will always be better than AWD in MOST forms of racing.

There is TONS of information out there to back this up.

Its simpler, cheaper, lighter, and less shit breaks. Look at Glazars 8 second AWD car. That thing was breaking tcases every weekend, and rumor has it that you cant find a tcase within 200 miles of that shop :lol: Shep does pretty good though. Bushurs car is RWD, all the 8-9 second conquests are RWD. Most are using Powerglide 2 speed auto trannies too. At that level, its all about not blowing up the driveline. That typically means auto tranny, and ford 9" rear ends. Its more about what the 4g63 can do as a motor than how cast these cars can go at that point...
