Which Team do you think will win the gold?!

Alot of people favour Wayne Gretsky's team Canada.... but that's probably just here, since i'm in Canada.

I've seen the rosters of the other teams, Team USA looks stacked too!

I dunno who's gunna win....

Well why not? they did well in the bobsled event at Lillehammer...beat BOTH the American sleds as I recall.....

The Kiwis are in the bobsled event this year and we haven't even got a run in this country!!!!!!!!:p :p :p :p

Looking at the rosters though any 1 of those teams could win on any given day. Should be a close competition.

Almost every sports website i go to says Canada's the favorite going into the games, and the Canada, USA and Russia are the teams with speed. The other teams are a little slow they say

I am giving the nod to a north american team and more specifically to the Canadians. They were smacked down in Nagano and are (nearly) the home team. The US will give a solid run for a medal. I wont be surprised if it ends up gold :D With the more open ice, I dont see any team with the offensive talent that the US and Canada have. With Roy (what an asshole - as an opinion) Canada has the hottest goaltender in the world. Gonna be tough to beat.

I think the teams weren't used to the large ice surface in nagano..... man was that embarrasing :)

I heard (but doubt it's true) that one of the forward lines on the canadian team, is going to be: Shannahan, Sakic, Kariya :eek: :eek:

Of course the whole prediction thing can go straight to hell if one of the goaltenders (like Hasak ) gets real hot. They can make more of a difference then anyone out there. I'd still like to see it be a US and Canada matchup for the gold. Talent wise, I'd have to go with Canada, but I want the US to win!

Roy isn't playing.

The 3 Canadian goaltenders are Joseph, Brodeur and Belfour.

I would love to see Canada win, but I think the US has a very strong team. I think that the US may be stronger defensively than Canada.

Russia has an amazing amount of talent. So does Sweden.

Finland beat Canada last time.

I don't think it will be a cakewalk, and it's really hard to say who will win.

I do think that Canada has the most individual player of the series for sure - Lemieux is simply incredible. I can't believe how gifted he is.

Oh yes, it was his decision not to play.

I think he said he wanted to focus on getting the Stanley Cup.

The news about Roy declining to play for team Canada happened a long time ago, it was all over sports centre for like a week.

He just said that he doesn't want to play in the olympics, he wants other goalies to get their chance to play.

I don't think he needs to focus on the stanley cup since he's won too many already!! :)

Sweden have a strong looking team and have to be one of the most underrated in the competition so I am not suprise that Canada lost.

I am really looking forward to the US Russia game tonight. With Russia's firepower and the US riding high from their drubbing of Finland, its got the makings of a kick ass match.

The US Russia game was great! To bad it ended in a tie, but if both teams play that way for the rest of the tournament - they'll be playing for for gold.

I must say Richter played amazing, he let in 5 goals but he played really well. Most other goalies wouldn't have stopped as many

I agree completly, G$. It was an amazing game with both teams playing really well. Im glad that Gretsky finally stopped his whining too.

YAY Canada!!!!

Canada owned the Americans,in the finals,both men and women.
The games were good and they put on a good fight,but it wasn't enough.
Hockey is a Canadian thing:)

Through the tournament i thought that USA was going to win it all... they were so determined and were beating almost everybody bad.

But it seems like Canada just kept getting better and better, getting used to the Olympic play.

It didn't really matter to me who won, since i've been a citizen of both countries and like both. So it was fun to watch, but everyone here went NUTS! Every car had a canadian flag hangin out the window, honking like crazy.... there were people riding on tops of cars, it was crazy!
