Opinion related 100%. My cheapo muffler and 2.5" piping sound great to me. It's hard to make a turbo dsm sound bad...

i agree, the N1 on a 97 GS-T sounds good, but my other friends custom 2.5 piping sounded the same... it won't be very loud because of the turbo, but it adds a nice growl :D

...i'm gunna say its more expensive than the N1...at least i'm pretty sure it was when i looked it up... REALLY SERIOUSLY
The Exhaust will sound and perform pretty much the SAME N1 is designed to add...15hp (read it somewhere) and has a corresponding downpipe good for 20hp (read at same place) now...a shop can bend 3" piping and you can put a 3" muffler on your car and have the same/similar gains for half the price of an Apex'i system. shops do downpipes as well. it will sound the same....half price...

I had a n1 muffler and i took it to a exhaust shop to make me a 3" Cat-Back. It sounds great and it didnt cost as much as the "real" n1 cat-back. But i didnt know that exhaust shops make downpipes. How much do they cost?

Some do, some don't. If you can find a shop that will take the outlet off of your o2 housing and stretch the end of a pipe to fit that, and neck it out to 3" there, great. Many places will explain that you'd be better off to buy one separately. You can get a new no-name one shipped off of ebay for a little over $100. Another reason not to get a DP bent at an exhaust shop is because it is a 90 degree bend--probably the most extreme bend in your exhaust. You don't want that bend pressbent.

have the N1 on my gsx with n1 downpipe and a fp evo III big 16g. sounds nice and isnt ricy sounding. would highly recommend unless i missed some really good numbers for the GT. Spent $495 on the cat back, and $195 on the DP. overall very happy and wouldnt replace with anything ive seen so far.
