I have a 1992 Jeep Cherokee Laredo. its got like 180000 miles on it and im about to drop a new engine in. If anyone is interested in selling a 4.0 Inline Six HO just email me at stephencmatthews@yahoo.com. also my power windows are the slowest windows i have ever seen. anyone have ne tips on how to make them fast again. Also my power locks stick somtimes and will not unlock with the switch so i have to do it manually. any advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

on the windows, try working a little silicone spray into the channel as you run the window up and down. That would eliminate one mechanical source

some causes could be electrical, a poor ground, a loose or corroded connection on the power side, bad switch contacts or mechanical with the window motors that need a little oil on the bearings or the regulators with grease that has dried up.

Are they all slow? down? up? both? some of the windows? all of them?

I guess I have more questions than answers so far. Sorry.

You can safely use the silicone spray or even a solid silicone based white grease. I've had to do this on my 70 Electra convertible and it made the windows work faster, go all the way up and down all the time. In most cases there are some points where if the track is dry the window will stick or go slow. once lubed and worked a few times they will get much better as they came lubed from the factory and time has just ate all the lube :-)
