Connect to LimeWire via Proxy Server

I entered the port and host name etc liek i did with everything else. But limewire aint working. Its a HTTPS port. Help anyone?

limewire? like filesharing?
filesharing is probable not going to work very well thru a proxy (assuming you are talking about a web proxy). so are you on a campus or trying to use your works connection?
last I remember limewire is a PP filesharing application that requires a direct internet connection to allow for imcomming connections to from other hosts. These programs use MANY different ports for both TX and RX so they are usually a pain in the ASS to get to work thru a proxy which requires you to specifically assign ports. unless you have a dynamic firewall (allow incoming established and related. basicly if you send out a request on yay port it will let anything in on any port as long as it says it's responding to yay request) anyway, these are usally no no's to do at work and pretty much impossible to do thru a web based proxy and get any reasonable speed so... let me know if you are talking about a web proxy or not. oh and then if you have SOCKS 4 or 5 authentication it is going to be even slower, like DOGSHIT slow so... just wait till you get home from work, that's my advice. and if your on a college campus and they have a proxy on there network your best bet is to find something on the campuses internal network to connect to for file sharing. :-) my 2 cents
