sicis ex takes on integra ls

Ok hers the story, happened last night. I bought a stock Civic 95 ex about a month ago. The only modifications, if you can call them that, are a set of 14 inch Honda optional equipment rims and Bridgestone Potenza re910 tires. My close friend rolls a 94 Integra ls mods include 16 inch rated r wheels, kuhmo zr 45/16 tires, cold air intake, header, cat back thermal research turbo exhaust, short shifter, springs/tokico shocks, plug wires, bosh platinum +4 plugs, and ZEX nitrus, i think 50 shot???

I haven't raced my EX yet, i wanted to see what it can do stock before i start modding it, so we go out to the spot by the Mitusubishi plant here nad no cars for miles. We line up at a stop, then go. I got ahead barely through first, pulled through second and third leading by a car or so. I,m ahead all through fourth, and then he starts creepin slowly once i,m in fifth and FINALLY catches up, and passes me at the very last, he BARELY won. We turned around and went again, this time i got a better launch and he never caught up , he slowed anfter i got in to fifth. CRAZY. huh? I was totally suprised. So we turned around again and lined up. This time he swithched his NOS on. He beat me no contest this time. We were side by side through fisrt gera, but after he hit second then sprayed, the TEG pulled hard and i laid off.

Basically, i am still kinda shocked. He's a good driver, he runs that car a lot. He said he shifts a couple hundred rpms before redline though, i dont know what his shift light is set at but i could see it light uo through his window. It was fun, he was pretty shocked to, he thiught he would smoke the SOHC:flash:

SOHC ? o a teg that old can't be fast but anyways yea i suppose the extra HP he has helped at the end.... but are bosch spark plugs anygood cuz they used to reduce your performance on a car

Different spark plugs work better in some cars than others. I usually don't hear good things about Bosches in Hondas, but when I put Bosches in my Delorean there was a slight performance increase over the previous spark plugs.

he didnt say the teg was SOHC, he said the teg driver thought hed smoke a SOHC, anwyas, does he use lower comprsession pistons at all, I dont think hed ned them with thsat smallm shot but i heard that with N2O, SC ro turbo, lower comp[ressiopn is best for a large boost or shot. anyways, I have a 94 LS with opnly cheap ointake, dc 4-2-1 headers, and cheap exghaust, and I have a friend with a 96(next gen) civic EX coupe with intake, we have never raced, but I can etell you if he did pul in first, when i hit 4 grand, Im gopne, I dont have VTEC, but I raced my frned when he was drivign my 95 mustang V6 which ois suppodsed to have 215 ft pounds of torque t 2300, and it tookmoff quicker, better launch also tho, since it is auto and he was the one counting to 3. anyways, i hit 4k RPMs and OI toook off like I had nois, there is just no way you beat him all the way through fifth, especialy sinc ein 5th my car does sie thuing, his cra might as well ont have a fifth gear!

and that must have been one ong stretch to get a civic into fifth and keep goign, did you top it in 5th, that would have taken forever.
maybe the guy you bought it from put in high compression pistons and forgot to tell you. LoL

It was a long ass stretch, thats why we chose it to race! No lights, no cops, very little to no traffic at that time of night.


I know for a fact all internals are stock. I listed ALL his mods above. I've driven his car many times, and it sure as hell doesn't take off like VTEC at 4k, i used to have a 95 GSR so i think i know.

If you dont belive me, fine, i was very suprized at the results myself. We went twice without NOS, both times basically the same result.

IN ADDITION, the other day i took out 2 DSMs! One was the first gen Eclispe, i think 90-91 because of the flip up heads. He had some chrome hubs and a loud fartpipe. That was a laugher, he just fell behind. Second race ladted longer, a 95+Talon NA, stock, i took him 2, i got a better jump than him, he might have been auto.

well, yah, NA talons arent exactly fast, the turbo ois but.., also, the 90-91 if it is the NA is slow too. but the ls with all his mods, he is a crappy driver or his car is running shity. maybe his timing is retarded for his nos, so without it it doesnt run as good. but yesterday with my RS with I/H/E, I dusted an (next gen form yours) EX with exhaust. he had a body kit and spoiler to ad some weight but it was so ad that his car stripped wouldnt have helped him. do you like not have any stereo, only driver seat and evetrything power removed and no AC or PS pump on your car or somehting?

nope, car is stock, although i added some altezzas (I know, i know) MY girl suprized me with them for valentines day, she thinks theyre so cool, so i put them on. Its cool she got me shit for my car instead of normal gifts like candy or a shirt or something. And they look pretty sweet IMO We had to redue the second run cause he grinded 2nd gear bad. He couldnt pull and inch on the ex
exhaust doesnt mean shit on sohc 1.6 hondas, he should have gotten a CAI, plus the 6th gens might be heavier than the 5th gens, im not sure though

yeah, well, he could have intake ands headers also,we raced ointhe freeway, and i never talked to him, it had indiglos, altezzas, fogs, body lkit, spoiler, sounded loud, could have I/H. but yeah, also, i wasnt realy thinking clearly when i last posted in this thread, what i meant when you replied with this - "I know for a fact all internals are stock. I see where you get this fromthough, that his are stock, but youy never stated yours werenthugh compression :D, and yeah the weight might differ, it just seems like it couldnt happen, but i guess if it did, congratulations.

Ya the only thing i can think of is his teg has 90,000+miles on it and he drives it hard, maybe the engine is tired:sleep:
