Bracket

I did a timing chain replacement. Unfortunately I can't remember where a bracket goes. It is about 8" long, tubular, but flattened in the middle with screw holes on either end. One end is flat and one end has a 90° end for the screw to go through. In the middle of the bracket it is flattened and looks like its supposed to either rest on something or avoid hitting something. It is covered with quite a bit of grease so I am thinking that it goes across the bottom somewhere. There is a little short bracket that is similar that runs between the engine and the transmission. This is much larger. Hope someone can help me as to where this thing goes? Thank you very very much.
