hp question

I just purschased a 01' gti 1.8t gti. Does any body know what the real hp rating is? Is there differant 1.8t engines? Thanks guys.

I have the auto. If that matters.

180hp 1.8t
200hp vr6

actually the 2001 version was only 150hp and 155tq

the REAL hp rating as in wheel hp? take away like 13% of the hp rating and you'll get ABOUT how much whp you have

and yea, there are the AWD, AWW and AWP versions of 1.8T, you have the AWW one

AWP is the newer one, has 180hp and about 174tq on the GTI with the K03sport turbo

the audi TT has the k04 turbo with 225hp

etc. etc.

carpoint.com owned by MSN is usually pretty good. They say 150HP. Automatic trans. waste more power than stick. Also the engine is heavily detuned to be quieter and better gas thrifty. Get a chip if you want to help harnesss the full potential and full power of the engine.
