Z32 is not a good Touge Car...

Hey FellaZ...

Guess what? After months of hitting the touge and a little drifting... I have figured out that my Zed (my word, Wes!) is not a good Touge/Drift car. Worn out tires due to too much weight going sideways on the downhill... red-hot brakes (I wish I would have taken pictures)... she is just too damn heavy! I am now retiring the Zed to Street/Highway/Drag application. NO MORE TOUGE MONSTER Z32! I will still represent THE CRAZY 88's and I will now get another car to abuse on the Touge... but my Zed (Bwahahahaha! MY WORD!) will be #1 always! Stay tuned for the ultimate NA Z32!

But big props to all the newbies who are gonna try to Touge Run and Drift that Z32! It's a bitch!!! :banghead:

they obviously needed extra downforce. duh....no but i didnt notice that huge wing the first time. probably just didnt feel like removing the stocker.

My friend tried to drift his Z31, it actually worked out fairly well because the Z31 is a bit lighter than the Z32.

I looked at the inside of my door today and I saw what I THINK was the car's weight...said 3700 something...I was like...eh...no. Didn't pay much attention cuz today was crazy (I drove through hell today on the way to SC...whee...SC...) so I'll have to look again later. It must have been in KG.

Easy? Have you ever tried to link drifts with a Zed? Not saying it can't be done... more props to whomever can (see above pic). Yes. I have a 2+2 with AT... not the best set-up for drift, but I had just got rid of my 240sx Coupe and was going through withdrawals... It's all out of my system now!

It's weird... but that is not the first Zed with a 'double' wing that I have seen like that in Japanese mags... I dunno... It's weird. Is there a raeson??? :uhoh:

3700kg!? no way jose. 3700kg is probably close to what a small to medium truck would weigh. The kerb weight of my 2+2 z31 is about 1300kg (before engine swap). I believe the turbo z31s are about 1250kg.

And in response to the thread in general, z31s make _excellent_ drifting cars, once you fix the suspension and get a proper clutch type LSD. The weight distribution seems to be perfect in z31s. The limited steering travel means you may not be able to get the car into insano perpendicular drifts like S13s and S14s can do, but the sweet looks of the car more than make up for it. :)

wow you got kind of hyped there lol! maybe i should have used some smilies or something in my post so it didnt seem so serious. but I dont even care about drifting my car very much, because I know I cant afford to damage anything. I can barely afford having a Z32 at all.

I was just pointing out that the handling characteristics of our cars will be different. Yours is auto and the heaviest model, mine is manual and the lightest model. It seemed like you were judging your basis on your Z32 alone. So i guess I was putting words in your mouth. My bad.

i have "dirfted" my corolla(85' sr-5), 1992 240sx, Nissan 350, and my friends used to be NA 5spd 300z. The 350 was the worst of the group then the 300 then the corolla then the 240 was easiest. The 300 is a little tough to connect the dorifto up but like he said it can be done but you need to know what your doing as opposed to light weight 240's and corollas. BTW as soon as i get my taillight fixed in my newly acquired 84' 300zx NA I'm hitting the hot ass streets of texas for some drift practice(been a few months :S). yes its slow heavy and dented but its a new part of my family.
