Fiberglass Question

I am working on installing a fiberglass blitz rear bumper on my 94 clipse. It fit great along underneath the taillights, but majorly flares out on the sides (right behind the wheel opening). My question....Is it possible to heat fiberglass in order to re-shape it? Or will it just burn. I know if its possible, it would have to be done very carefully.
Ideas? Solutions?

From the experiences ive had with fiberglass, there are 2 options for you.

1. Like you said heat will work to certain extent.
2. Or build braces (which is tedious).

ive never tried heating it up to bend it bug it sound like it would work

like you said heating it will do one of two things.. work great or go terribly wrong... yeah braces are probily gonna serve your purpose best but like rslaser said.. its tedious crappy work.. lol gl

you guys wont believe this. But 2 nights a car rolled back in to my blitz from bumper made of fiber glass at about 2 miles per hour maybe 1? and the hole bumpe cracked through and almost fell off i swear to you fiberglass is the weakest material ever im surprised bugs that you hit at 80 miles an hour dont break it off. and thats not a lie they rolled in to it in neutral at like 1 mile per hour cause they were only parked 2-3 feet infront of me then when they pulled away the fiberglass was cracked all the way through i need a new bumper now btw.

That sucks. I guess this is a good story for anyone to read before they buy a fiberglass kit. Sorry to hear that. Why dont you charge them more than you paid, then buy a urethene kit with the money? lol, j/k.
