taillights look good?

I would like to kno what everyone else thinks about these taillights.

i never was really one for the "masked" look to tail lights, but they do look better than stock.

those were altezzas but i didnt really like them so i did that

they definately go with your car how you have them. i just wanted something to make my car stand out a little bit. i thought they were a bit much when i put them on by themselves, but after i got the clear 3rd brake light and clear rear bumper lenses they go nicely together. (i guess even the crome color on the exhaust matches now) lol

i like mine...idont' see anything wrong w/ them....

i have a silver eclipse and i have the tyc black tailights and the black on silver looks real good as well. but i like the silver masked ones a lot too.

should have gotten the black with the silver ring. those are hot

masking tape and metallic aluminum spray paint

i just installed tyc carbon fiber tails tonite. i have a silver eclipse and they look pretty sweet. i'm definitely glad i did that instead of clear. more of a contrast.

any kind of spray maint in paticular? and how did you mask it off so round?

i personally dont dig the kitted look...the cover looks a little cheapish to me but thats just taste. i think the 3 Gs have awesome lights.

check the 2003+ shine street kit...its looks friggen awesome, when i get money i'm getting that and going 2 tone black/dark gray and white :D

r u talkin about black outs? if u r im just goin to warn u that the light they put out inst that bright, but u prolly dont care cuz i didnt.

can anyone tell me if they noticed less light coming from the tail lights. I heard someone mention that the light isn't as good as stock. I was interested in getting the black Altezza tail lights for my Eclipse. Are they okay or are they another cheap custom part? How much less light do they give out compared to the stock ones?

Nice dude those headlights look real good. Do you have the website where to get them. I don't see those style listed on the sites that I have seen.

i got them from another guy that was selling his eclipse. if you look at the second post on this page, a guy posted a website that sells them

How much did everyone pay for their tail lights. I have noticed on the net that there are a lot of price fluctuations with the Altezza lights. Some sites want over 100.00 a pair and other sites you can pick them up for about 70.00 a pair. They are not another cheap custom part are they?

i got mine for $100 shipped. they were that high b/c they are so rare. i wouldnt pay more than $80 for a pair if i were you. anything of that, your getting ripped off. or if you like the higher priced stuff, then go to APC, they have altezzas for the 3g, and theyre close to $250

I was worried because that is awful cheap for two tail lights. But they do look good, I am just cautious because some of the custom stuff is real cheap looking and I don't want my car to look like some cheap kit car.

your car will never look cheap with the black ones. i was gonna get the black ones until i found the ones i got

I just got an 01 eclipse and I'm going to put altezza's on them. But I know how to put them on!! Can you guys give me some instructions?

This is like my first car that I care about and that I plan on making it look really good.

haha. Read what you posted FairyDust, you said you know how to out em on. But incase you meanr you dont, just pop the trunk and scope out some bolts connected the tailights. Should be very simple; I do tail light stuff on my 2G, recentlt too...should be some bolts. youll need a10 or maybe 11mm socket. drive those babies out and push from the inside. tails should pop out.

hahaha ya I meant I don't know how to change them out. Thanks for the info I'm gonna give it a try tomorrow.

i believe they are 10mm. i dont think that there is a 11mm nut or bolt on our cars.

I guess I gotta buy a set tomorrow then cause I don't have one. When I washed my car and cleaned it out today I popped the pieces out in the trunk and looked and dang it looks easy to do now that I have a clue what I'm doing. Thanks!

the only problem i had was getting to the top screw. it was hard to hold a wrench, spin it, and not drop it. if you have small hands, this should be a breeze

alright I'm pissed at myself now. I got one light in, not a problem. On the 2nd one I dropped the socket down while loosing a screw. How do I get it out?

I got it fixed. Had a friend come over and show me how to pull apart the trunk to get it out.

wow i didnt think you would be able to get it out. i remember one guy saying that he dropped his wrench down and couldnt get it out. post some pics of you taillights

he pulled up the bottom of the trunk, like so you could see the spare. And then you pop up the middle piece of plastic on the trunk, like if your standing at the back of the car, the piece thats against your body when your leaning in. And then you unscrew the side pieces and remove the tie downs and there ya go!

I had an idea of thats how to pull it open, but I wasn't sure and I didn't want to like break everything hahaha.

When I get my digitcal cam back I'll post some pics of them too. They look sooo much better than the stock did!

Does anyone have a link to get the black with silver ring tail lights? And do they have them for a 2003? I have a 2003 Spyder and the lights are totally different than 00-02. There's one connector that goes to the inside (small lens) side of the tail light. From there, there are wires running to the 2 sockets where the bulbs are plugged in. May not be as easy to swap out.
