ignition thread

I just purchased a Mallory Hyfire 6-AL multispark ignition system for my 97 z28. And most of you know that ignition problems are the most annoying (and confusing) dillemas to ever exist under a car hood. With such high voltages, the most microscopic flaws can be enough to discourage electron travel creating an extremely puzzling problem (that a lotta times ends up with an otherwise decent car in the junkyard). I'm starting this thread to let everyone speak their mind about knowledge they have to offer about ignition systems in general.

Also if anyone has ever installed an aftermarket ignition system on an LT1 you are more than welcome to warn me about any unknown challenges they never tell you about in books.

anytime I pull any wires off of the plugs or cap, I use die-electric grease or plug boot grease when re-installing them.. Most people dont but it can make a huge difference.. It will prevent electrical leaks and arking.. it also makes it a lot easier to pull the wire off the plug later on
