88 s10 2.5 stalls when I step on gas

I have an 88 s10 2.5 - 5 speed that stalls when i step on the gas too fast. It does ok when I slowly ease the gas pedal down, kinda acts like a bad accellerator pump on a carb, only its EFI
This only happens once in a while and usually smartens up when I let it idle for 20 min
I've checked the throttle position sensor and map sensor both are working fine and it has a strong spark at all times, and it has new air and fuel filters.
I'm pretty sure it's just starving itself from gas.. just wondering if anyone else has had this problem before

your right, most likely you are starving for fuel. check your fuel pump, fuel filter, and pressure regulator.
