Some kid the other day from nevada called me and somehow got mynumber off of aim, and saw my car or whatever. He had questions about SCP and what their deal was. Now online he tells me he is going through carsponsorships.com and the parts are FREE not percentage of the price.....FREE!!! .... HMMM? time to take on a dual sponsorhip? or maybe just get my money from SCP and use it towards signing with them?

Damn-it... why can't I get a sponsorship?

I'm that "kid" from nevada. I've done some research on the two companies that he's talking about.
SCP (Sport Compact Pro): you pay $89 and put a sticker on your car to basically get wholesale discounts on items from their catalog. grantit it looks like a real sponsorship but you're still paying. The Catalogs say a certain price which is usually MSRP, then they give you the discount which brings it down to wholesale or a little higher. if you're not ordering much, this isn't worth it because online you'd be paying about $20 more, if you're buying a bunch of stuff, it might work out.
Carsponsorships.com: you pay $89 and you're actually reviewed. Depending on which of their sponsors want to help you out are how much free stuff you get. If you get in the lowest bracket of sponsorships, you get $600+ worth of decals from decalkits.com. If you get in the next highest, you get a sponsorship from House Of Boom.com which they actually ship you out a catalog to order from but it's all car stereo and on top of that, the sponsorship is usually from $2500-$3000 plus you get the decal sponsorship. If you get accepted for higher, you will get free performance parts for your car. The only way to progressively get higher up is to promote your car as much as you can through their site. They have sponsors on stand-by who will notice the more effort you put in to it and increase your sponsorship. The best part is, you don't have to put any logo on your car of carsponsorships.com, just the logos of your sponsors. There's actually a site you log in to if you're sponsored by them which will allow you to upload photos and promote your vehicle.
These are just what I've noticed and personally, I'd rather go with CarSponsorships.com, it's full sponsorships and even if you just get decals, it's $90 for a buttload of decals that would normally cost a lot more. and on top of that, you get to choose the color, even get the decals in crome! and they give you all the tools and instructions on how to install them.

yeah i read that on carsponsorships.com but i didnt really understand it. how easy is it to qualify for the free performance parts? free stuff usually means it comes with a catch. also with sport compact pro, most performance parts for our cars dont have wholesale prices, especially when you get into turbo kits and what not? i dont know though guys. im goin to go ahead and do the SCP i think so i will be sure to tell you guys all about it.

I dunno man...I know *I* sure as hell wouldn't know what the hell to do with 2037527364923956293847235 stickers. $500 worth of stickers...hell...have any body work you need repaired? Use some stickers. Few patches of rust? No prob...the APC sticker will cover that right up. Hole in your tire? Here...take these Moroso stickers...good as new.
I need to get settled down and everything before I do ANYTHING with sponsorships or whatever.

it covers vinyl decals on the side of your car, hood decals, you could probably get some decals for your crew if you've got one. the side vinyl decals are like $150 which is cheap for a full side vinyl...I like them, some people don't but keep in mind, the more you promote the sponsors, the more interested they are in giving you full sponsorships. I got $625 from the decalkit.com site and an at cost for the house of boom stereo equipment. The performance parts come later after you promote the previous sponsors. It takes time and effort which if you're not willing to put that in for a sponsor, why try? all the decals are of your choice and I believe they even allow custom like you choose the words that are printed on it. not the whole design but the words. check out the site, see what it has to offer. I like it and hell, even if it ends up lookin' tacky, no one will care in 6 months when I've got sponsorships for parts and audio equipment. Do what you will with the info, I know which one suits me best. Keep in mind, those 2 that I listed aren't the only 2 sponsors that are in the whole group and they even accept info of other places that you'd like sponsorships from and they'll promote for you and setup a portfolio for you. That's one of the coolest parts I think. On top of that, all of the full sponsorships will report any info that you want them to to any company that inquires about how good of a sponsor you are to them. I know 6 months to a year is a long time to wait before you get bigger but if you don't have the money and don't have a plan to get the money any time soon and on top of that don't have the drive or the dedication...why try in the first place? sponsorships are for a full year anyway, why try for a full year sponsorship when you're only going to put a few months worth of effort in to it.

nope, sure don't own a Z, one of my friends does but he's not in to the viny graphics things. it's a personal prefrence. if you saw any game like need for speed underground or street legal redline, you'd see that I like vinyl graphics and decals. you may think it looks stupid but just because someone tells you something is stupid, is that going to stop you from doing what you want to do? I know a lot of people that think nissans and imports in general suck but does that stop us from doing what we want to do? havn't seen it happen yet.

Sorry to 'talk-shit'... but it's not a personal prefrence... it's just that it looks like shit. Period. Games? You are obviously one of those kiddies that has just discovered the import scene back east. You think I don't like it 'cus someone else said so? It looks like crap... plain and simple! Call it a personal prefrence not to look like crap! And I can care less about the morons who think 'imports suck' or Nissans suck... those people are just fucking retarded and most likely drive Trans- Ams and has a mullet...

here's a question for you, what's more important: a car that looks good and is good to you or a car that looks good and is good to everyone elses standards? did you buy a 300z just because you wanted everyone else to think it looked good? or did you buy it because you felt that the 300z was a car you'd be proud to own because it means something to you? Keep that in mind before you talk shit.

well some cars need stickers to look good! but a 300z with stickers? i dont know about that. the z looks good the ways it is. but if a sticker turns you on well go for it. this is how yor car may look if you over do it www.z32.com/index2.html

nrg4thaphreax, you need to calm down there turbo.
We have to respect each others opinions. I personally think graphics and vinyl is pointless, unless you have a REAL race car, or a show car. On your everyday street car, it's ridiculous.
I for one am about keeping the car 'stock' and pouring all of the money into that engine bay.
Anyways, Zed's are nice looking enough, body kits, wings, arent exactly neccesary, but they always help.

alright son, listen up.. before you bust into some forum talking shit about the regulars you better look around first and read up about how much we love our cars. i bought a zx because it's an awesome car, it's fun to drive, handles excellent, it's definitely an eye catcher, and it's relatively rare. i bought it for me.. i don't do things just so other people will look at me, that's for all those people who feel the need to plaster vynil all over their cars. now i'm not trying to say you're some ricer punk, i'm just saying that we have no need to destroy the looks of our z's with stuff that just doesn't belong. like wes said, unless you have a real race car, it's pointless. i guess you just don't understand the legacy of the z until you actually own one
