1997 Gt Gone

Well the 97 GT went down to the hurricane. A tree hit the outside wall of the storage place I had my three cars at. The tree and all the block are on the roof and inside the car.
Lets take a min. and say DAMN!!!. Now I have to replace it. Seeing I don't like the newer styles, there was a cherry 97 in Tampa before the storm. Has 18,000 miles on it and it's RED.
I'll let you know how it goes.
Thanks for all the emails asking how we were. Jim

I'm on the west coast, just north of Tampa. The family is great, thank God. Two in 3 weeks. AND another on the way.
When the wall came down, the GTP is just really dirty. The 66 GTO was covered, in a framed cover over cover. Was going to send it back to Michigan in June. After this, it's going by train tomorrow. Can't take the chance of losing that one. Can't be replaced.
Going to take the 98 in to be detailed. Way too much dirt on it to just wash. Good thing I just had it repainted, eh? Ordered a new 10" cone filter from Thasher today. Do you have this feeling that our cars mean too much to us?
Thanks again Guys, Jim

hey custom, I live in Michigan if you need a place to store that 66 GTO, let me know! (nudge-nudge wink-wink, LOL). Just make sure you leave the keys so I can keep the battery charged and "start" it once in awhile.

If I would have known. It when out this AM. Will be in Richmond, Michigan on Monday. Had about 10 offers for it at the depot. That car always shocks me on what people want to pay for it.
But thanks for the offer. Like I said, if I only knew, and I know you would have tested the tires to make sure that they would warm up to the right temp too, right?

OH of course, you can't start a '66 GTO without testing the tire Grippage!!!!! Glad to hear she's ok and safe. The 66-67 GTO's are some of the prettiest cars GM has ever produced, not a bad line on them.

Well the 55 T-Bird has nice line, but aren't worth the money these people are talking. That car has gone up more then 20 times the price when it was new.
But I still like the RED Grand Prix. Has to be red.

Working on replacement now. Should have a new one soon. Been looking at 2 cars. Went back and looked at the 2004 GTO. Just don't like the looks. Like the 1997-2002.
My wife will always be my #1 thought.
Thanks, Jim
