1993 Chevy K1500 5.7 Auto

I've put off replacing my radiator to the point that stop leak does not work anymore.

Starting poking around various websites (Advance, NAPA, etc.) to purchase a new one, but how the heck do you tell what you have?

With trans cooler, w/o trans cooler, with oil cooler, w/o oil cooler, with heavy duty oil cooler, 28 inches between tanks, 28+ inches between tanks, and on and on.

Any hints on how to identify the readiator I need?

youre right, its crazy how many different radiators gm uses. most of them are some what interchangeable, but not all. its best to measure between the two tanks = width, top to bottom = height, and count the cores= thickness to count the cores look under the radiator cap and you will see. you can use one that has more cores it will just cool better. facing the truck oil cooler lines will be on the right and tranny cooler lines on the left, most trucks at least have the trans lines. if you find one that is cheaper with the lines but you dont have any lines it will still work the oil and trans lines are part of a seperate core, just dont use them. advance auto can print a pic of all the radiators and you can take them home to match them up. or just take them the radiator and they will know. there is no sure fire way except to measure

Try 1-800-Radiator I got mine for less than $220 without tax and it arrived at my door the next day. Really great service. I believe that my Radiator # was like 21009. Call them up and they will walk you through identifying yours. You may even have some factory numbers stamped into the original.
