Odometer lights went out

The odometer lights and the transmision status lights just went out on my 2000 5.7L. It used to be I could tap the clear plastic cover a couple of times and they would turn back on, now it doesnīt want to do that anymore, itīs not the connector cause I disconnected it and played around with it, didnīt work unless I tapped the plastic, I think itīs a bad solder on the display terminals, but I donīt just want to solder everything back, does anybody know which terminal (on the display itself) it is? the miles keep adding on even though the lights are off so thatīs a good thing.

I had a similar problem with my Digital Dash in my 90 Blazer. Turns out the Dash had a bad power supply in it.
Two Suggestions:
First, Pull the dash out and Re'solder all the connections yourself. If your brave enough and have a careful hand. Sounds like a cold solder joint to me.

Second, Send it to these guys. www.mrwhizard.com they are really quick with repairing digital dashes You may get your dash back with'in the week and as an added bonus their in Canada. So, it's not as expensive if your in the States. Call them first to see if they can fix it if they can't you may be able to get them to send you in another direction.

Hope this helps.

Thanks! actually I was up all night reading the rest of the old threads, it could be a cold solder on the trip reset switch since that is what most people said they had...
