I'm going to guess on this, but most cars are similar and ive done alot of work on them. Since its front wheel drive, the alternator is probably on the left side of the block. and easy to see. Good tips on pulling the alternator, Pull the radiator out. this gets hoses out of the way and a big gap to work with radiators are easy to get in and out. look at the radiator area disconect the grounding wire connected to it, and the other power wires on the wire harness. loosen the the bolt in the middle where the pully is at. there should be about 4 bolts holding the altenator in. there are 2 big bolts going across connceting it to the blockand some else where. to get the big ones out you will have to loosen it up then get a screw driver and happer to tap the bolt out. then get all undone and reverse process. be sure to have 10mm 12mm and 14mm socket amd wrench cause your going to use them all.

I've recently acquired a 1999 Corolla, and assuming it is set up similarly to the 2002, the alternator should be on the top passenger side of the block readily accessible except for one thing...the serpentine belt.
I've changed the alternator on my 1991 Corolla twice, but it's bolting allows the alternator to slide away, loosens the belt tension.
Speaking from the 1999 point of view, to change the alternator you need to first remove the negative wire from the battery!!! Very important unless you want to see sparks fly if you accidentally make contact on the alternator. Next disconnect the wiring harness from the alternator and its ground wire. Next remove the belt from the alternator pulley which is pretty simple to do as long as you have a Toyota "star " socket that fits the self tensioner. I did have one and slightly bunged up my self-tensioner nut. Bolt up the new alternator, reinstall the belt. Connect the wiring harness and ground wire. Connect the negative wire to the battery. You should be on your way.

Thanks for your respond/guides.

I am not yet 100% positive that I am going to need to remove alternator. Going to try to figure out that this weekend.
What bother me is the squeaky/squealing sound that comes from that part where alternator sits. Every time I start the engine in the morning this sound starts too.
After driving for a while, it disappears.
The belt is fine – applied dressing bell a few times.

why don't you go to a technician?

have you tried tightening the belt? you will get squeeling if the belt is new(it stretches), or worn out. If it were the alternator bearing it would only get worse as you drive. and a 2002 should still be under warranty.
