i would get 1 15" cvr, or 2 12" cvr's, but that's just my opinion. why can't you make the decision for yourself. This is YOUR system.

L5 or L7? They are both good subs. I wouldnt mind having some L7's myself.

the squares are only l5's

i can get the 3 or the two for realtively the same price maybe the 3 cheaper. There both 12's subs but i was wondering what would sound better my car is only a 95 mustang

NEW KICKER SOLO BARIC 12" S12L5 2 OHM 1200 WATT

Hmm alright, i was told the two squares would sound better.

how much airspace do you have available in your car? kickers need a lot of air

Its going in my trunk which is pretty decent sized. My friend also has them in his 96 mustang which is same damn car and they sound nice. I also have 4 infity cappas 5 by 7s to replace the stock speakers

no, they won't.....

for the same money you could proply get two shivas or two tempest, way better IMO

the two squares are 260 dlvd. If you could link me or find me the two you suggest i would gladly get them

"pretty decent sized" says nothing
I doubt you have the airspace necessary for 3 12CVRs, and if you try to stuff them in there it will just end up sounding like ass. Go for a single 15 CVR instead if you want to stick with kicker, or there are a bunch of small box options out there as well if you want to broaden your horizons.

towards the bottom, the shiva is on sale right now for 115 shipped each, so thats 230 shipped to your door. unless you don't live in the contiguous 48 states

Lois- i was told i need 2 ohm not 4 ohm voice or something would that work for me?

well, it depends on if you already have an amp, if you do then it matters what ohm load the speakers will give to the amp, but i don't know the specs of your amp, so please list them and i'll be able to tell you.

the shivas are dual 8 ohm, so you could give a final load of 2 ohms to your amp....

4 Ohm Stereo: 200 X 2 Watts
2 Ohm Stereo: 400 X 2 Watts
1 Ohm Stereo: 600 X 2 Watts
4 Ohm Mono: 400 X 1 Watts
2 Ohm Mono: 800 X 1 Watts
1 Ohm Mono: 1600 X 1 Watts

PLMK as soon as possible so i can purchase two of those baby's.

alright you can probably fit 3 if they're sealed like 1cuft, but I would recommend that if you can get 3 for the same price as 2, do that and then sell one. that way you can use 2 in a bigger box and hook them up to 2 ohm mono, that way they will be getting 800w which is perfect.

up to you though, like i said, its YOUR system.........

well, if those are rms ratings, it will give each shiva 400 watts if wired correctly, and that is plenty........

so the total max rms would be 800 on the shivas combined? Also are the shivas worth the 115 each. Thank you in advanced.

for some reason, i knew those were audiobahn numbers :).

if you are going to upgrade, then yea get the shivas, but the cvr's are still very nice.

Mustang_95_Coupe
09-07-2004, 05:56 PM
ya i ordered two shivas today. It will go with my audiobahn for now, the audiobahn IMO was quite cheap for how much other places had it listed. All the shops here are asking 700-600 for it so i was like why not, but im defenitaly gonna upgrade later on, also plan on getting a suv soon so might just keep the bahn in the mustang.

i never heard the shivas, but i did hear a setup with 3 kicker cvr's...
i would've went with the 3

you just said you've never heard the shivas, so why would go you with the cvrs?

marv makes great boxes......

Marv just said the shivas need a lot of space( 7 ft for the two of them) so he is trying to get me to get some other subs.

sr20de4evr
09-08-2004, 03:48 PM
7 for 2 is a bit excessive, but they are large box woofers, that's why they have such incredible low end extension and efficiency

Mustang_95_Coupe
09-08-2004, 03:50 PM
yea he said it wouldnt sound good at all in my car. So i asked him to recomend me to 1 sub around 260 that would push 1000 rms or around that so ill see what he says.

Mustang_95_Coupe
09-08-2004, 03:53 PM
also my friend has a amp for his speakers in the car not the subs. Should i do the same thing? I have 4 infinty cappas in the car right now.

loismustdie
09-08-2004, 05:28 PM
Marv just said the shivas need a lot of space( 7 ft for the two of them) so he is trying to get me to get some other subs.

the shivas only need around 1.5-2 feet a piece sealed(maybe marv meant ported?), you will get extremely larger out put with 3 subs than 1......but if you were to get one IDMAX and seal it, then it would also sound good, so it really depends on what you want.......

Mustang_95_Coupe
09-08-2004, 06:31 PM
i think i was getting a ported box. I heard ported was better for rap.

loismustdie
09-08-2004, 06:34 PM
i think i was getting a ported box. I heard ported was better for rap.

with three subs definitly go sealed......but with one, ported would give you generally louder bass

Mustang_95_Coupe
09-08-2004, 06:36 PM
anyone have any sites for a sub with 1000 rms for around 260?

Mustang_95_Coupe
09-08-2004, 06:42 PM
i don't wanna sound stupid but components are the speakers inside the car that go where the stock ones are correct? So i could get a amp for those 4 that run at 100 rms a piece also?

sr20de4evr
09-08-2004, 08:10 PM
1000rms sub for 260?

RE SX might be in that price range, a kicker L7 can handle 1000rms most likely

sr20de4evr
09-08-2004, 08:11 PM
oh yeah, and sure you can get an amp for your front stage. I would recommend getting a 2ch amp and just running your front 2 with it though. You can leave the rears running off of the headunit, you won't really see much of an improvement by amping them, you're just wasting money.

aznxthuggie
09-08-2004, 08:58 PM
why not just get a single 18' CVR and shoot it up.. u might have enough room hah

loismustdie
09-08-2004, 10:00 PM
go with an IDMAX if you do teh single sub setup, why did you abandon the 3 shivas, that would dominate

Mustang_95_Coupe
09-08-2004, 10:02 PM
He said it would not work for my car, because the subs need more space than i have. I was going for a ported box.

loismustdie
09-08-2004, 10:04 PM
i think you'll have enough space for three sealed shivas, don't do ported, why do you insist on ported?

Mustang_95_Coupe
09-08-2004, 10:07 PM
he said it was best for rap, and it was going to be only two shivas.

pac4eva5
09-08-2004, 11:28 PM
just get 2 shivas ported then! trust me, that is a very good set-up, plus 3 shivas wouldnt push too hard w/ that amp anyway. the 2 shivas are your best bet.

Mustang_95_Coupe
09-08-2004, 11:30 PM
thats what i asked him and he said it would't fit ported. I never was going to get 3 shivas. He said it would take over 7 ft for them and thats without displacment

pac4eva5
09-08-2004, 11:52 PM
u can go a little lower than 7, or go sealed. trust me, sealed will sound great w/ those subs. 4cuft total will be perfect.

Mustang_95_Coupe
09-09-2004, 03:42 PM
alright i asked him if sealed would be ok in my car
