Starter relay? 88 N/A

I'm tryin to chase down an intermittent starting problem on my 88. Anyone know where the damn starter relay is? I opened the passenger side kick panel only to find the trans computer and I don't want to mess with it, tranny's temperamental enough.
Also, dome lights don't come on when the doors are open. Door triggers still work, cuz the "door open" light on the dash comes on. The lights themselves work too cuz you can turn em on with the buttons. There a third switch I'm not aware of? Maybe another relay?
Finally, the car idles rather rough, right above 600 rpm. My (crappy Haynes) manual says the ECU controls the idle speed. But there's gotta be some way to adjust it. I check all the vacuum lines I could find and they seem to be in good condition. Help?
Any and all answers would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have an alarm? maybe kill switch. I have the same problem and everything works like the lights but it wont start wont even crank over trying to figure it out.

if you want the starter relay you were very close to it. unscrew the two screws holding the trans ecu and you'll see about 4 to 6 relays and to find out which it is just check the manual.

Check out the SOGI tech tip if you haven't already, it's most likely your starter contacts that need cleaned/replaced.

For the dome lights, theres a SOGI replacment tip for those also, sounds like your problem.

ok.... do you hear a clicking sound when you turn the key over? If so, make sure your battery is charged (It won't crank if it isnt) or unplug the negative terminal and re-hook it. The factory alarm goes off all the time on these, but the factory starter kill doesnt reset for some odd reason. As for adjusting the idle, there's a screw embedded in a tube molded into the throttle. Turning it to the left will up the idle. Set mine about 1500, and it works pretty good. By adjusting the screw, the plate moves, gets detected by the throttle position sensor, and the computer changes the fuel by itself, it's really easy.

wow 1500 idle? someone doesn't care about gas lol. It almost sounds like a problem that I have with an 87 N/A right now.
