First of all, WOW. Thanks for all the helpful hints. I've been reading your posts for months now and I finally registered. I thought my Aurora was the only one with problems. You gotta love it though, right?
My most recent puzzle has to do with my A/C. The passenger side blows ice cold air (as it should) but the drivers side blows warm (lukewarm) air. The A/C is charged (just did that) and my compressor is working fine to my knowledge and I checked my fuses. I'm hoping this is not a problem with the controls on the dash. I heard that its expensive to replace. Any hints? Thanks.

I have the same exact thing happening to my 99'. It's in the shop now getting the diags run on it ---- I'll let you know what I find out.

could be the blend box getting stuck, had same problem in mines. Just changed compressor also. (Not because of that though) check your blend box (under the dash, where the hot and cold air are mixed). On some cars (early '95's seem prevalent) this tends to "stick"

Thanks for the help. I'm curious as to how hard it is to get to the blend box. Is it something that could need replaced or just lubed up?

The place I took my car to couldn't figure it out....time to go to a auto electronic specialist. Plus they killed my remote starter --- those punks.

My '97 just started this activity as well. Now when the family piles in, I ride shotgun while the wifey sweats it out!

I was wondering if the blend box goes under another name? I want to look up some info on it (diagrams etc) before I try tearing my dash apart. Has anyone found anything new about this problem?

The fact that the passenger side duct is providing cold air when in A/C mode indicates that the HVAC internal air control modulators are functioning properly.(There are two(2) in the HVAC control box behind the dash in the center. Are the diffusers on the dash by the radio and driver's information center blowing air? How about the driver's door diffuser and the outlets at the knee bolster under the dash? Need to know this info...based on the limited info you have given, it may be the air control modulator on the driver's side, under the dash, accessible by removing the knee bolster. It is a small roundish black box with a wire terminal attached to it (unpluggable) that fits on the shaft of the air flap controlller in the ductwork. You can test it, but would need the specs on it and which wire to check for resistance/voltage, etc.

Had the same problem you need to replace the Actuator (part # 16164972) that works the door on the Air inlet

I'm getting air out of all my vents, but only super cold air out of the passenger side. Driver vent on the door and both center console vents are blowing cool to luke warm air. Pass. vent on door and pass. vent on the side of the console blows super cold. I hope this is what needs to be known to make a diagnosis.

Well, as an update...my a/c has begun working on both driver and passenger sides again. I didn't mess with anything. It takes awhile to cool down on the driver's side, but it does get cold and stays cold. Until I buy some tools (I just moved to a different state and Dad's tools are 6.5 hours away), I won't be tearing apart the dash until then. Thanks for all your help. I'll try to update this again when I finally do fix the problem.
