Building a model just like my real car and I have some NAPA single stage metal flake paint that I used on my car. Will this work on my model? What about primer? Can i use this paint with an airbrush?
thanks for any info

you can use automotive paint with plastic automotive primer (which one is for car bumpers). automotive paint can damage styrene if applied without primer

Your 1:1 metal flake paint will look odd on a model as the "flakes" will be far to large to give your model a scale appearance. Look for a "model scale" metallic for better fidelity
What about primer?[/QUOTE]
You will need to use a "blocker" or "barrier" to seal the plastic. Dpont Variprime is the best, Floquil barrier is cheap and easy to use.

Yes, provided you thin it down enough, but that may cause a more translucent color coat.

Whenever you're using an unknown substance on plastic try it first on a piece of scrap plastic from the kit so if it does hurt the plastic you won't ruin the model :bandit:
