97 Cavalier Fuel problems

I have a 97 cavalier with some odd problems. A couple of weeks ago, it would not start, had smell of fuel. There was fuel leakage around the pressure regulator. I pulled the sparkplugs, they were wet with fuel. I cleaned and checked gap. The leakage around the regulator went away. Installed the plugs back in, it backfired a little, but started. And ran fine for a week or so. Then it did the same thing, fuel around the regulator, and the cylinders wet with fuel. Could it be the regulator sticking? The injectors had been all replaced a couple of years ago.

Replace the regulator. The diaphram has developed a pinhole, and is leaking fuel and bleeding off pressure, causing the plugs to foul.

That did the trick, I was wondering if it might be, but no way to check for sure without vacuum pump etc. And the cost of a new one was not too bad....$113.00, but got it running and on the road again
