well i bought this 89 civic a few months ago, and i noticed that the brake lights wouldnt work. the third brake light in the window works, but the taillights don't work. when i just turn on my headlights and everything, they come on, but they don't light up when i press on the brake. i already tried to replace the light bulbs, but that didn't work, so i was wondering if anyone out there had any suggestions as to what i can do.

go outside and try to honk your horn, if it doesnt honk then the fuse is blown. Its in the little black box under the hood on the passenger side fenderwell.

i checked and my horn works, but i went ahead and replaced the fuse with a new one anyways, and no differecne. the third brake light in the window is the only one that works

yea, i'm thinking you might have a ripped/cut/burnt wire somewhere or something. or maybe ur brake light sensor thing is dead or something.

maybe you should check your fuse under the drivers side dash,& see if your taillight fuse is blowed
