So I just recently bought myself a 78 camaro with great mechanics for 1,200. Only problem is the body needs work to repaint, get rid of rust, etc etc. He has a marine battery in it right now and gave me a durabilt sidepost battery to put into. Now the problem is that the battery is under this bar.

Thats not my car, but you can see the battery in the lower left corner under that metal bar. My question is, to get the battery out do I have to get that bar out? Is it some vital load bearing bar that would send my car up in flames if taken out? Should it be tightened to a certain torque? Any and all comments are greatly appreciated :)

looks like its just a staybalizer bar that you could just take off without any problems

pretty sure its just a radiator support. it should just unbolt and you can get the battery out...
