broken gearshift cable

okay here is the problem the cable that runs from my shifter to my engine broke the other day, luckily i was at home. well, i want to know if there is anything i can do to fix it/ replace it, if so how much am i looking at. i think i could do the repairs myself but i need to know what i need to buy

We need a little more info, like year, engine, trans, etc... and we should be able to help you.

i talked to the GM parts department in my town and ordered a new cable for $93, thanks for trying though
