i just put a different radio in my car. now, it says no date info available, i have followed the directions on how to reset it, but it doesnt work. any suggestions??

The DIC/date function work in conjunction with the stock deck...must have something to do with the TIME feature on the stock stereo.

i have a 97 and my buddie has a 95. i was at his house and asked him about it, and he has a aftermarket head unit as well, and his works fine, the date that is. any light on that??

that would be the first my friend, unless he got some kind of harness or adaptor.

What model radio was originally installed in the vehicle? I had always heard that the date function would be lost if replaced. Perhaps that is only for the Bose system, not the base system?

I hope that this is true. My stock stereo (non-Bose) is giving me constant error messages now. If the loss of function is only for the Bose, I'm definitely going to swap mine for an aftermarket system.
