when my car is cold it breaks up at like 2500-3500 rpms and wont go past that and it sounds like its hitting a rev limiter but then after driving it for a half hour or so it gets better and but breaks up at 4500 rpms and takes a second to rev out

sounds like the fuel filter is plugged or a fuel problem not boost problems... if it were boost problems they would get worse as the engine heated up. are your plugs gapped correctly? check engine light on?

I don't have personal experience with this, but I have heard guys talking about leaking caps on the ECU board. My understanding is that you need to remove the old caps and replace them.

if its leaking capacitors you should be able get some new ones at... radio shack maybe? if thats the case tho yeah some soldering and your in bizness but if the board is burnt up that might need some work too.. i wonder if it aint worth it to invest in a new or used ecu
