I need some help, and I also need to ask you to bear with me a bit. I know very little about cars unless it's something I've had to fix before, my brother(who is good with cars) isn't very good with the internet, so I'm trying to get some info for him.
OK,
he has a 1989 civic dx (June of 89 mfg date if that matters), it has a 1.5 engine and the common injector set up (instead of one for each cylinder).
he wants to put a 1.6 (with the separate injectors) from a 1989 civic SI(December 89 mfg date).
he has the wiring harness(engine compartment), and the computer (ECU?) from the SI.
he's already got the motor in, the computer will plug in, but the problem he's having is with the wires that control the injectors. can anybody explain or have diagrams (or even better, both) as to where these wires need to go? also while the computer does plug right in, would that mean the wires would be right on that side of the firewall or does he need to change some of the wires in the interior harness as well as the engine compartment connection?
any help would be appreciated. if there is more info I need to provide, just ask and I'll give him a call and try not to screw up the info as I pass it along.
thanks, C_A
