intake cam lobe

The book shows top dead center, and you can look threw the oil fill cap and see the intake cam pionting upward.It this true?I'm putting my '88 together and the cam gear timming mark won't jive.Crank shaft 0 two cams straight up but no cam pointing up.What is the deal does anyone know

Did you take the crank shaft pully of? If so are you sure that you put the pully back on the same way you took it off. If so, take the head off and put the #1 cylender at TDC (First piston all the way to the top.) Then line up your cam marks you should ba at TDC now

Well I answered my own question.It doesn't matter where the cam lobe was as long as the other alignment marks match up.
