'93 325 replaced belts - squealing badly

Hello,

I'm a new guy here, first post. I just had the belts on my 325 replaced because my tension pulley locked up and tore my old belts. The new belts squeal loudly and for long periods. Since there is a tension pully and tension cannot be adjusted, what could be the problem and is there anything I can do before taking it in. I work on the road and have a hard time setting up appointments at the shop. I've tried belt conditioners to to avail. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks, Mike

A quick solution is just spraying some WD40 and it will leave. I usually tend to associate that sound with it not being tight enough. Maybe you might have to tighten something else? Hope that helps.

Not sure, cause I don't have specific experience with your type of setup, but . . .

Is there something wrong with your tension pulley? Since you already lost one set of belts because of the pulley, maybe you should have it investigated, since it doesn't sound like it is doing it's job.
