Modified 'scort - eating driveshafts

I'm part way through a project car, I started off with a 1996 Mk7 Escort Si 1.8 Zetec, but have modified most of the car's mechanical aspects (17" rims + ultra low profile tyres, -60mm suspension, full magnex SS exhaust, cat-bypass pipe, K&N 57i, quick shift gear linkage, 280mm discs all round, ST24 fuel pump, green injectors, group N clutch and heavily modified 2.0 mondeo zetec engine (rebored out to 2.3, chipped, high-lift cam shafts, inlet and outlet manifolds reground larger, forged pistons, altered compression ratio, ported & polished, lightened bottom end and pullies) currently giving out 257bhp and 293ft/lb without nitrus (100bhp NO5 kit).

The problem I'm having is that under heavy accelteration I keep breaking driveshafts (and I'm onto the 2nd new gearbox this year), anyone have any idea if I'll be able to use RS2000 or cossie driveshafts and anywhere that's likely to have some in the Yorkshire area?

dunno really bout how to fix theproblem, because of all the mods. But, I can tell you that the mods are the problem! The drive shafts aren't the same for any of the three types of escort/Mondeo. Your going to have to choose which you like better, the Mondeo engine, or the RS2000 Strut-towers. You may even have the car lowered so far that when you accellerate hard, the CV Axles have to strech to reach the Hubs. Try raising it back up just a little.
