1989 corolla power windows problem

Hello all. Im new to the forum and hoping someone can provide me with some much needed info.

About a month ago the power windows on my 1989 corolla le went out. Strangely enough, they came back on for a while, died, came back on... and finally completely stopped working a week or so ago.

I thought this was a fuse thing, but Im beginning to see that isnt the case. Could someone give me an idea of what i need to look for? Because of the way the windows were acting, I would guess that maybe something is loose. Any help would be appreciated.

the motor that drives the windows is probably toasted. you can find new ones on ebay cheap

I was under the impression that there was a motor for each window in the car from reading other posts about this. Actually, all my windows in the car have stopped working. Is there just one motor running all the windows?

no there's one for each window...i guess that did make it sound like there was only one.
