Supercharger?

Just wondering. Is supercharging the eclipse (or Talon in my case) possible? I would much rather pay the money for a super than a turbo? Any links or anything?

they dont make a supercharger for the eclipse plus you can make much more power with a turbo! turbos use exhaust to push the propeller... superchargers use the rotating mass so there for it robs power from the motor, turbo chargers dont take any power away from the motor! the only difference is lag but there are many setups where you can make more power from a turbo than a supercharger!

yes i tuned my whole motor, with the help of some buddies at a dyno shop in my town!

they do make a supercharger for the eclipse.. im not phyco.. iv seen it.. i just cant remember were dammzit... oh well maybe i am phyco.. bit a s/c is pointless on a eclipse anyhow i think so who cares

the only supercharger made for eclipses are for the 3rd gen's... i was looking for one about a month or 2 ago and everywhere i went or called said there hasnt been one made yet! who knows, maybe they have come out since i checked last...

apparently a s/c for a 420a.. remembered seeing it and thinkin unt uh.. but yeah its expired and i had to go thro all heck search for it lol

looks like i'm gunna have to buy one! i wanted one originally instead of a turbo but i just got a 95 talon ESI that was given to me about a month ago, (thats why i was looking for the supercharger) so i am gunna play with that motor a little! looks like that one is goin to be supercharged! :biggrin:

yeah but isnt that a lil pricy for 6 psi dude? i mean the cool factor would be through the roof....

oh shit no... you dont have to run 6psi, its all controlled by the pullies. i'll build the motor and hopefully get around 450hp out of it by maxing out the supercharger! :lol: man i cant even imagine 450hp instantly as soon as i touch the throttle...

Auctly you could buy one of thouse super chragers used from like a grand prix, for like $500. Then all you have to do is custom fit it to your manifold. Wouldent be all that hard to do, and cheaper then a turbo kit. Ive seen it done before, to a v6 avenger yes..but the point remains the same.

u won't hit full boost til redline, there's a disadvan, but i've seen a couple 2.4's supercharged (spyder GS's) and my friend said his grandpa supercharged an Eclipse GS-T and was killin' everything around the lake.........BUT HE's FULLA SH!T if u got money though, make it happen
