Could you guys name some head/block setups that youve heard of or done, that work alright. Because I heard that a GSR block would make good high compression but what would be a good block for it? O ya and please dont yell at me or nuthin but the head controls how high you can rev right? Whats the block do performance wise. I just gata konw this kinda stuff.

gsr/type-r->b20b block(why go with lower displacement)
b16a->b18c or b20b block
the head is gonna determine how high you need to rev to make power, but the block also has to be built up to rev high also(new rods, new bearings maybe, and rod bolts). the block is where all the power is actually made. the block controls the compression ratio to a certain degree(piston and stroke).

Well i can tell you what i had done to my set up. I had a first gen b16a head mated with a ITR shortblock with ctr pistons. That gave me i think 11:7 cr? I really forgot what the cr but its around there. I had a full b16a swap and when i switched out blocks, it made such a HUGE difference cuz of more torque and hp. I didn't get to dyno how much im puttin to the wheels but i did run 13.9 with that set up. Stock head with I/h/e ;)

thanx guys , but mellowboy how do you find performance parts for the B20? Or do you have to have everything custom made? Also, this is an off question, but what year range distributor could i use for an 89 DOHC ZC? 88-89? 88-91?

Well lets start on what year your car is? If you have a non obd and u want to put dohc b20... you gonna have to convert it to obd0 or convert it to obd2 then later on get the obd2-obd1 conversion harness. I knew of someone put CTR pistons in a b20. They have so many aftermarket parts for b20s. www.importbuilders.com
