Hello ...

I have a GSR and installing a Custom Turbo set up. I am also putting in a thermal 3" exhaust. I wanted to know if I should get rid of the cat or replace it with a new one? I am looking for speed here. thanks for the advice.

Well its up to u want you want. U get more power without a cat but its gonna be loud.

I would get a new cat, w/a 3" exhaust your car's gonna be loud, and no cat would prolly get you pulled over. It's all about sound preference. I have a 4g hatch w/an LS, and even w/2.5" piping it's hard to here my radio. If you like it loud go no cat, if you don't wanna be deaf in a year get a high flow cat

a cherry bomb is great for hp. it just a resonator. better then putting on a straight pipe. all i have to say is that if u have a turbo setup, your stupid if you keep the cat. you want to get the most out of your turbo. all the cherry bomb goes is keep your exhaust quieter like having a cat while giving you the almost the same flow as a straight pipe.

I punched out my cat and put an RSR Ex-Mag exhaust on and my car isn't loud at all, it dosen't sound ricey either a nice deep low sound. Hope this helps.

I say you should go with the high flow cat .. i had the greedy t3 in my crx i ran it without a cat then i put one on and there is not a real noticable diff in hp.. But its your choice and yes with out the cat it is loud...
