89 beretta

ok where to begin. I have an 89 beretta with a 2.8. The car has been towed twice now. My son drives the car for a bit, let's it sit there and goes to start it and it will not start. I have changed the pcv valve, the fuel filter, the temp coolant sensor and teh computer. Reason for a computer changed was I was getting a code 43 which is the knock sensor circuit. So I had the knock sensor changed, still got the code 43 the nI pulled the computer out of my 92 corsica, which had the same #'s. Code 43 went away.

I ran the car for 15 minutes, let it sit for 20 seconds, started it back up and let it run for 5 minutes(idela relearn). Did some other things on the car and went back to start it about 20 minutes later and the damn thing would not start AGAIN. I am just about ready to blow this car up. I have no further idea on what this may be. A friend of mine said that it maybe the board that lays under the power packs ???? I personally have NO idea !!!!!

check for spark when the car won't start. If you don't have spark, I'd try a crank sensor (located on the back of the block, toward the passenger side, just above the oil pan). It's a common cause for intermittent no starts on 2.8/3.1 V-6's. IF you do have spark, check fuel pressure. You may have a fuel pump, fuel pump relay, or fuel pressure regulator going bad.

i noticed that this thread is kinda old but if ya don't have it fixed yet...... I had the same prob on my 2.8 89 GT and I found out that it was the Ignition Control Module underneath the coil packs. I tried the crank sensore first as it was the cheaper of the 2 options but that did not help. Even if ya got it fixed just havin this posted might be able to help others.
