Gonna paint my car !

ALright a freind of my dads is going to help paint my car cuz he paints cars in garages for a side job. what color do you guys recommend or what brands. I was thinking a black or dark color.

hey just a side note did you know they charge you more insurance if you have a red car. Ok back to your post black is a realy good color on the eclipse but i kind of like dark gray or silver. My car is burgundy wth a gold strip going down each side. But see its all up to you your the one who is gonna look at it everyday.

can you point me to an exact color or brand of gray/silver color code or something.

gunmetal is more of a dark gray color then there is just silver

what is that nice light gray/ or silver that i see some stock factory 2g eclipses with and where can i get it.

i dont knoiw the technical name for it just get a pic of it and show it to the person who is gonna paint your car

theres some gunmetal color thats facotry on a jetta or golf or something.. dunno the code but its pretty sweet..

the stock silver paint is called magenta grey pearl i think. i have it. it looks really nice especially in the sun you can see the pearl in it. :D . plus it dont get dusty really fast, well it does but you cant notice it as much as the other stock colors.

His paint is so glossy it is ridiculous--not sure how he pulled that off...

He's also a vendor and probably has the money for nice paint, as well as a fast car. I'd get a regular DSM color and save money. The bright red is nice, and black is always good too.

he probably has more than the stock amount of clear coat on there, the more clear, the more shiny, and he probably waxes and buffs his car 3 times a day, but it looks like it's well worth the time....back to the paint issue, i like dark colors on eclipses, especially black if you know how to keep up your paint.

I was gonna go with a dark color, prob a midnight blue. Im still trying to save up for it :frown:.

In order to figure out what color you want it you need to know what exactly you are going to do with it. PAint it to match your mods. If you want tinted windows you want to get a lighter solid paint, a bright white with tinted windows looks fukin awsome, it creates contrast, or gun metal rims on a light car. Also cars with stighter or hard lines look good in a gloss black. exa. escalades. And chrome and black go hand in hand.
