I would recommend replacing the axle as a unit. It's much more cost efficient and less time consuming. Your going to have to pull the axle anyway to change the boot correctly! I have changed out boots before, they are a PITA! Besides, most Remanufactured CV shafts come with a lifetime warranty. I personally buy mine from Advance Auto or www.PartsAmerica.com I find that I have less problems because of quality control issues such as messed up threads and gouged splines. -Chris

I have not had to replace the boots on my 2000 Lesabre but have done it on a Camry using repacement boot kits from AutoZone. No need to remove any mechanical parts. Cut off old boots & clamps (straps), clean out old grease and pack in new grease (included). Assemble boot over axel and tighten clamps (included) on each end.
If you just replaced the boot in Jan. there shouldn't be much concern about wear on the joint and this should take care of your fix. They ran about $29.95 each side.
Good Luck.

Didn't you say that you had just replaced the CV Joints last Jan? Hard to believe that they would go bad so quickly!
