Best year model for Celica

Could you tell me what you think is the best year model for the celica like for modding.

id say the 5th and 6th gen celicas are the best for all the mods.

5th and 6th are okay, but you'll wanna do an engine swap and get a 3sgte or 3sge. ($1000+) 6th is heavier, and people I talk to are lukewarm about it. Looks nice, though. I have a 5th gen, and it's light and nimble, but be prepared to do some work getting it to go fast and handle right. It has some definite understeer/plow issues (only at high speeds), which may or may not be correctable with minor suspension upgrades.

If you can find an alltrac 5th gen, buy it. Other than that, it's really a matter of personnal preference and cost.

as u can see ever single 6th gen is lighter compared to a 5th

oh not to mention better shocks struts and better fuel curve....6th gen dominates over 5th....

tahnks for the info guys :p , but i think im going with a 7th gen celica cos it will be easier to mod. is it a good idea to turbo a GTs even tho is has a high compression ratio, im still kinda eh about that

i would say 00' up i meen get a gt no wing dude they look sick plus they are fast i test drove one plus ther a toyota

haha ima turbo my gt, but ima be building the internals, ther are guys on celica.net pushin 10 psi on stock motors with metal headgaskets and upgraded fuel systems. yeah any will die with boost, but unless u tune it right be conservative wit the boost levels and upgrade what u need to likethe fuel system ignition timing and all that u should be fine

DONT buy a gt, the motor sucks....if u bought a 5th or 6th gen gt or gts itll be faster than a 7th gen gt.... 7th gen has 140 Hp and 12 Tq 5th/6th gen have 135Hp 145 TQ....as well as its not easyer to uprage a 7th gen because almost everything is run by the computer...bnut is ur hoice, if ur gunna go for a 7th gen sopend the extra money for a gts

correction the only thing good about a gt is its more easily turboed than the gts...but ud only get 40-50 horses outta the turbo...witch would be around the same as the gts....just go for the gts
