1994 Cavalier Dying on Decelleration

Guys, need you help.

Let me get this straight for you.

1994 Cavalier VL Sedan
2.2L 120HP I4
5spd Standard
125,000 miles
39+ MPG
Well Maintained

Recently on a 1.5 hour trip back home from college, my gf complained that the car would just completely die if she was decellerating like coming off of an exit from a highway, pressing the clutch, putting the tranny in neutral and slowing down while pressing the brake.

I took it out for a good rip roar carbon blowing 10 minute drive and for the life of me could not get it to do the same for me.

It is like it only does it if you drive for over 30-45 minutes it will act up.

It has not happened since this one day.

Any help?

it may have been a fluke piece of carbon or something sicking the EGR or IAC open, and then it cleared itself out.

Hope so.

The car it tip top other than the known chevy 2.2L piston slap until it warms up.

It's quite the fast little car though.
