I would like to ask you to please take a moment and bow your heads in rememberence of Airman First Class Carl L. Anderson Jr.

Carl Anderson Jr was killed in action on 29 Aug 2004 at 2045 in Iraq. Carl was a vehicle operator with the 3rd logistics readiness squadron, Elmendorf AFB AK. Carl was killed when his convoy hit an IED (explosive, roadside). Carl was postomously awarded the bronze star with valor for heroism as well as the Air Force commendation Medal for meritorious service and The coveted purple heart. This is the 1st death the 3rd wing has suffered in combat since 1969.

Carl was 21 years old.

I knew carl as a neighbor and a co-worker and a friend. Please remember this hero. Carl will be missed and thank you for your time.
