Guys, I can't seem to be getting the check engine lights out of my 1994 Cavalier.
It has the 12 post ALDL connector but the A-B Test jump is not revealing any codes for me.
Can anyone help?

sorry, I jump a and B and turn the key to ON just like everyone says and the codes aren't coming.
I have heard mine might be OBDII or GM disabled paperclip code reading on the 1994.
Can anyone help me?

Gm didn't go to OBDII until 96, check your ECM fuse, it may be burnt.

If the ECM fuse was gone, don't you think the engine would not work?

why are you checking for codes, did your check engine light come on, or are you just curious?

has it ever died on you, or can you give me what led up to it dying?

does your check engine light come on when you turn the key on without starting the car? IF not, someone may have removed the bulb.

It does.
Thanks for the tip though.

I was trying to go back to the simplest thing first, since this has been a mind-boggler. Unless there is a broken wire to your ALDL connector, it doesn't make sense that you can't pull the codes. I'm afraid you have me stumped, let us know what you figure out if you do.

I heard that GM disabled the PIN jump way to get the codes on a 1994.
People at J-Body.org are stumped also.
