Switching from a CRX to a 97 prelude

I am about to buy a 1 owner 97 prelude with 89K on it. I am going to the basic bolt ons and a set of cams. I am not a new person to hondas I am a regular over at the 4th gen civic forums.
I am wondering what brands of CAI's, header, and exhaust are the best bang for your buck on preludes. I am going to get a set of skunk2 cams before I put any bolt ons on.
Also I looked at these front mount intakes...are they any better than standard CAI's?
I am basically looking for someone to give me an overview of the car. I know how to work on them but knowing what to start with is best.
Thanks---John

well... instead of an intermediate shaft on the back of the engine - its got a Traction control unit - (ATTS) - all the power from the tranny goes into it and then that splits the power between the two axle shafts... the header is a bit different to make room for the ATTS unit, the suspension is different... but you can buy base model shocks in order to use coilovers made for a base model... the SH also only comes in 5 speed manual.

one more thing - oil filter placement moves to the top drivers side of the engine angled up to also make room for the ATTS unit.

cai's are easy to make yourselves, but if you want a real 'pro' one, go with the usual brands: injen, aem, etc.

headers: don't bother replacing the stock ones unless your dishing out ALOT of money for the really expensive ones because the oem ones are really really really good to begin with and the cheaper ones such as dc sports, etc. don't help much if at all.

exhausts, depends on the look and sound, theres a very wide variety, read around, there are tons of threads on exhausts in this forum. one more thing, ludes are a lot heavier than your old pocket rocket, and you might be a bit dissappointed in the power to weight ratio and i believe aftermarket support isn't as wide as the crx, even though the prelude has a very big market. i paid 10k for my 97 with 97k miles on it, and even though the price was a little steep (got it at carmax), i love the car and i don't regret buying it.

this forum is filled with info, you can find almost anything by doing a search, and if you still don't find what you want, there are many people here that will probably be able to help.

have fun with your new baby :D

Yea, just look around for parts that say they fit the SH, any part that says for NON SH means its made for the SI and wont fit your car. I agree with college guy, dont go with aftermarket header, unless your looking to spend 500+ for a racing one. the CAI should be universal , but i am not sure. exhaust should be universal as well, but again i am not possitive.
