I just saw a nice 2nd generation Chevelle downtown, and I was just wondering what the specifics are on how to ID them, to see if it was a '68 opposed to a '69. I've always wondered, and I figure I may has well ask now than ever.
Also, if you want, you can give me some pointers on first gens, too :iceslolan

68- tail lights... one long kinda rectange looking light on each side ubove the bumper.
69-tail light.... two rectangles on each side one right above the other, just above the bumper... persoanly i dont like the way they look.
the 69 grille is devided horozonatly in the middle and the 68 is not. look at the pics of my car in the link in my sig and youll see spacificaly what the 68's look like and then im sure you can find or someone can give you a pic of a 69. other than those two body parts, they arnt alot differnt that most people can tell.

The side marker on the front fenders on a 69 are higher than the ones on the 68. The front bumber blinkers are also different. Also, i think some, or maybe all, 68s had the little wing window like the trucks had in the day, the 69 does not. 68 had a circular side view mirror, 69s was rectangular. And a few interior differences. If you want some 69 pics to compare with 68chevelle's car, let me know.
