How to replace non-automatic antenna

Hi there!

A tree fell on my trunk and ripped off my antenna. It is a manual antenna and all that is left of it is the little bitty metal stub inside the black rubber washer thingy on the fender. Inside is a silver bracket which is attached to the body of the car inside the trunk and I believe also attached to the other end of the antenna. A wire comes from the current broken antenna to some other wires which I realize are necessary to hook up the antenna to the radio.

Alright, who knows how to do this without going to the shop and paying big dollars? Can't you just remove the bracket, put in a new antenna and hook it up to the existing wire(s) in the trunk?

Thanks in advance for your help!!

that's all there is to it. The metal part that the antenna screws to needs to come off also. The base screws into it to secure it to the fender and make it water tight.
